B & B Tobacconists

B & B Tobacconists has been a fixture in Asheville since 1984, and it's exactly what a real tobacconist should be. Let's be clear up front: this is not a vape shop, and you won't find cigarettes here. What you will find is cigars, pipe tobacco, and the accessories that go with them, run by people who genuinely know the craft. Regulars will tell you it's one of the best-regarded tobacconists in the area, and honestly, few places in Buncombe County come close. The cigar selection is the kind serious enthusiasts travel for.

The humidor runs deep with Arturo Fuente, Padron, My Father, Oliva, Rocky Patel, Drew Estate, Ashton, Cohiba, Montecristo and dozens more, plus their own B&B House Cigars. One gentleman celebrating his 30th anniversary walked in hunting for Liga Privada No. 9, a bottle he called nearly impossible to find, and there were boxes of it waiting in the humidor. That's the reputation this place has earned. Pipe smokers are just as well looked after, with pipes from Peterson, Savinelli, Nording, BriarWorks and IM Corona, tobacco from Cornell & Diehl, Mac Baren, Sutliff and G.L.

Pease, and their house blends that people rave about. One visitor from across the country picked up a couple of pipes and four house blends and couldn't say enough good things. Ask anyone who shops here and the first thing they mention is the staff. Charlie, one of the partners, has a knack for making folks feel at home the moment they walk in, and the crew is patient with newcomers. One fella new to cigars was helped along by a gentleman with a great beard who took extra time to steer him right.

There's a lounge and a porch with seating where you can settle in, along with vendor events that keep things lively. As one regular put it, B&B is one of those places that just feels like home. Worth the trip if you're anywhere near Asheville.
