Birdies

Birdies has been a fixture in Elyria for years, and the word around town is that it's one of the best-loved smoke shops in the area. Ask anyone who shops here and you'll hear the same thing: the place has a soul. Mikey and Luke run it now, carrying on the legacy Terry, known to friends as Birdie, built. Regulars who knew her say she'd be proud of how true to its roots the shop has stayed.

Part of the fun here is that Birdies is more than a smoke shop. Yes, they've got the essentials covered, vapes and disposables, e-liquid and vape juice, glass pipes and water pipes, rolling papers, CBD and hemp products, and all the smoking accessories you'd want. You'll also find band tees that pull people right back to late-70s and early-80s concerts, tapestries, tie-dye, stickers, books, art, and all sorts of knickknacks you probably haven't seen in years. Walk in and you're usually greeted by the smell of incense and a warm hello.

There's a good chance June, the shop dog, will come say hi too, and locals swear a belly rub earns you a friend for life. The service is what keeps folks coming back. One first-timer told us the fella at the counter walked her through CBD oil questions clearly and helped her friend pick out a glass piece she couldn't stop raving about. Another gal who lives out in Strongsville pulled up two minutes after closing, and instead of turning her away, the young man came out and helped her anyway.

That's the kind of place this is. Prices are fair, the selection is unique, and the vibe is genuinely welcoming. If you're looking for a head shop in Elyria with real character and people who treat you like a neighbor, Birdies is well worth the trip.
