Gandolf's Smoke Shop

Gandolf's Smoke Shop has earned its reputation as one of the best-regarded smoke shops in Durango, Colorado, and spend five minutes inside and you'll see why. Ask anyone who shops here about the glass and they light up: this place keeps a serious selection of pipes and water pipes, including art-quality glassware that people say is a pleasure just to look at. Regulars will tell you the pieces here hold up, too. More than one longtime local has mentioned that the only reason their Gandolf's piece ever broke was plain user error.

The shop tends to stock quality, functional brands rather than the flashy stuff that falls apart, and folks notice that. One happy visitor walked out with a Zong pipe their guy recommended and swears by it. Beyond the glass, you'll find vapes and disposable vapes, vaporizers, hookah and shisha, rolling papers, grinders, and all the everyday accessories, plus a few things you might never have considered. They carry quality vaporizer brands and even warranty some devices, so if something goes wrong you just bring it back in.

One couple came in looking for one unit and left thrilled with a Dr. Dabber Switch 2, along with a couple of freebies for good measure. The staff is where this shop really shines. People mention Kyle (also spelled Kylle around town) by name for being welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely into what he sells, often owning the gear himself.

The crew gets described as righteous dudes who make you feel at home and happily pick up the phone when you call ahead with questions before driving over. A word of fairness: we've heard the occasional grumble that prices run a little high on some items, so it pays to know what you're after. Even so, most people leave feeling well taken care of. If you want a friendly, knowledgeable smoke shop in Durango with real depth of selection, this is a local favorite worth your time.
